Matthew Coghlan

Matthew Coghlan is a communications professional with extensive experience in strategic communications and mobilization within the United Nations, currently serving as the Strategic Communications Lead for the Net Zero Recognition & Accountability Framework at UN Climate Change since September 2023. Previously, Coghlan held roles such as Senior Communications and Mobilization Officer for the UN Secretary-General's Climate Action Team and Communications Lead for the 2019 United Nations Climate Action Summit. At Fleishman Hillard, Coghlan was Senior Vice President and Partner, leading communications for major corporate clients and developing notable thought-leadership initiatives. Additional experience includes serving as Press Secretary to the Treasurer and Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, and roles in journalism and legal practice. Coghlan holds dual Bachelor's degrees in Law and Political Science from the University of Melbourne.
