Perumal Arumugam

Perumal Arumugam is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in climate change and energy management. Currently serving as a Manager at UN Climate Change since November 2008, Perumal is involved in the assessment of independent auditors for Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects and has held various roles including Programme Officer, Member of the CDM Methodologies Panel, CDM Small Scale Working Group, and CDM Registration and Issuance Team, all contributing to the approval and improvement of GHG impact quantification methodologies. In addition, Perumal represents UNFCCC in the International Civil Aviation Organization's development of CORSIA rules. Previous roles include Director at Birla Carbon Management Consulting Pvt Ltd and Consultant positions at Zenith Energy and Andhra Pradesh Productivity Council. Educational qualifications include a Postgraduate degree in Energy Management from the National Productivity Council and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering.
