Sophie De Coninck currently serves as the Director of the Means of Implementation Division at UN Climate Change since September 2024, focusing on climate finance, capacity building, and technology. Prior to this role, Sophie De Coninck was associated with the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) for nearly a decade, holding various positions including Climate Facility Global Manager and Head of the Uganda Country Office. Sophie's earlier experience includes significant roles at the European Commission as a Policy Officer in climate change and development, and at UNEP as a Technical Advisor on poverty reduction and environment. Additional work experience encompasses project management and policy research in environmental and climate disciplines, alongside a foundational career in business development at Cypress Semiconductor. Educationally, Sophie holds two master's degrees in Environmental Science and Management, and in Engineering and Applied Economics from Université catholique de Louvain, complemented by an exchange program in Business and Finance at Brandeis International Business School.
