Cheikh Tidiane Toure is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in international relations and political communication. Currently serving as the Regional Coordinator for Africa at the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) since January 2021, Toure previously held the position of Communication and Awareness Manager at the International Criminal Court (CPI) from December 2017 to December 2020. Earlier roles include Political Coordination Officer for the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) and Political Affairs Advisor for the United Nations Operation in Côte d'Ivoire (ONUCI). Toure also served as Chief of Advocacy and Regional Human Rights Office at ONUCI for a decade. Toure's academic credentials include advanced diplomas in international relations, African political history, and contemporary history from prestigious institutions in France and Mauritania.
