Global Coordinator, Women's Resilience To Disasters And Climate Change at UN Women

Rahel Steinbach is an experienced professional in disaster risk reduction and climate change resilience, currently serving as Global Coordinator for UN Women's Women's Resilience to Disasters programme since May 2017, following a role as Programme Specialist in the same field. Prior to joining UN Women, Rahel held several key positions at UNEP and UNFPA, focusing on sustainable energy, climate change, and management services, with significant project development responsibilities. Earlier career experiences include managing a $24M portfolio in the UNDP/GEF Small Grants Programme at UNOPS and providing legal assistance on human rights issues with the Federal Republic of Germany's Foreign Ministry. Rahel holds a PhD in Sustainable Development from the University of Vienna and multiple advanced degrees in international studies and political science.
