Neghist Tesfaye Belayneh

Strategic Intervention Adviser at UNAIDS

Neghist Tesfaye Belayneh possesses extensive experience in public health, particularly in maternal, child, and adolescent health, as well as HIV/AIDS response. Currently serving as a Strategic Intervention Adviser at UNAIDS since May 2013, Neghist plays a pivotal role in Ethiopia's efforts towards an HIV-free generation, focusing on PMTCT, pediatric ART programs, and multisectoral HIV responses. Prior roles include Health Specialist at UNICEF Ethiopia, National Program Coordinator at the Federal Ministry of Health, and various positions in pediatric care. Neghist is well-educated, holding a Master's degree in International Health from Ruprecht-Karl Universität Heidelberg and a Doctor of Medicine from Addis Ababa University, alongside other certifications.
