Joe Pettit

Joe Pettit is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as Engineering Manager III at EarthScope Consortium since January 2023, following the merger of UNAVCO, Inc. and IRIS to support seismic and geodetic sciences. Pettit has been with UNAVCO since 2007, initially as Project Manager for Polar Projects, leading a team focused on providing precision GPS and terrestrial laser scanning for the polar scientific community. Prior experience includes serving as Operations Manager at Raytheon Polar Services from 2001 to 2007, overseeing the daily operations of a research facility in Antarctica. Joe Pettit holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Electro-optics and RF from New Mexico State University, earned from 1980 to 1985.
