Traci Young

Traci Young has over 10 years of experience in apparel production and operations. Traci began their career in 2010 as a Freelance Technical Designer for Ralph Lauren, where they evaluated fit specifications on live models and mannequins using appropriate samples of assigned products, made appropriate recommendations in collaboration with peer teams on matters pertaining to specs, pattern, construction methods and techniques to improve fit, balance, and overall quality of the garment, and executed tech packs from concept to PP/TOP of assigned and additional product classifications as directed.

In 2011, they moved to Calvin Klein Sportswear as a Sr. Technical Designer, where they evaluated the quality of the product, ensured Brand integrity throughout fit development process while keeping the customer in mind, and evaluated fit specifications on both live models and mannequins using appropriate samples of assigned products.

From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Freelance Technical Designer for Chico's FAS, Inc., where they were responsible for maintaining the consistency of fit and quality through the fit-development process and written technical specifications as appropriate by Brand, evaluated the garment fit integrity and implemented the construction of all styles within the scope of responsibility, and worked closely with the Technical Designer Team to continually broaden technical knowledge and to elevate the quality of the product.

In 2019, they returned to Gap Inc. as a Freelance Technical Designer.

In 2022, they began working as an Apparel Production and Operations Director for Unbox the Dress.

Traci Young began their educational journey in 1979, when they attended the Burlington County Institute of Technology in Westhampton to pursue a degree in Clothing Fabrication with a focus in Fashion/Apparel Design. Traci then continued their studies at Tuskegee University in the field of Clothing & Related Arts, though they did not receive a degree from this institution.
