Latarzja Henry

LaTarzja Henry currently serves as the Senior Director of Academics and Research Communications at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, a position held since May 2023. Prior to this, LaTarzja spent over 22 years with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, where the roles included Chief of Staff for Communications and Public Affairs, focusing on strategic, operational, and organizational agendas, and Senior Director for Community Relations and Partnership Development, successfully securing significant funding for educational initiatives. Additionally, LaTarzja served as Executive Director of Communications, overseeing a 31-person team, and as Media Relations Supervisor, where the management of media relationships and crisis communication efforts were primary responsibilities. LaTarzja holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Hampton University and a Master of Arts in Communications Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
