Chelsea Mendoza

Chelsea Mendoza is an experienced Health Unit Coordinator at UNC Health since October 2023, responsible for maintaining accurate patient charts and processing various admissions and discharge forms. Previously, Chelsea worked as a Patient Sitter, closely monitoring patients and assisting with daily activities, and held roles at CareYaya as a Medical Shadowing Outreach Intern and Patient Care Assistant, where outreach and elderly patient care were primary focuses. Chelsea's research experience includes an internship at The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, co-authoring a study on cardiac fibroblasts in COVID-19 patients, and an internship at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Chelsea is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Medical Anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, having completed education at Pitt Community College, North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, and South Central High School.
