Jonathan Barrett

Jonathan Barrett is an experienced healthcare professional currently serving as the Director of Rural Health & Community Engagement at UNC Health since September 2015. In this role, Jonathan has successfully managed high-performing physician-owned practices and led initiatives to enhance community outreach, including a COVID-19 mobile unit to support underserved populations. With a strong background in population health and quality improvement, Jonathan has held various positions at UNC Health, where responsibilities included overseeing value care contract initiatives and improving operational efficiency. Earlier experience includes roles at Kohl's and Hospice Cleveland County, as well as internships focused on quality assurance and research in health services. Jonathan holds a Master of Health Administration from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration from Gardner-Webb University.
