Lead Acute Care Clinical Pharmacist at UNC Health

Sarah Williford, PharmD, BCCCP has a diverse work experience in the field of pharmacy. Sarah began their career as a Pharmacy Intern at Target in 2013 and worked there until 2015. Subsequently, they served as a PGY-1 Pharmacy Resident at Lakeland Regional Health-Florida from July 2015 to June 2016. Sarah then joined Palmetto Health as an Internal Medicine Clinical Pharmacist from August 2016 to June 2017. Following this, they worked as a Critical Care Pharmacy Resident at the University of Maryland Medical Center from July 2017 to July 2018. Currently, they are employed at UNC Health as a Critical Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and serves as the Lead Acute Care Clinical Pharmacist starting from November 2023.

Sarah Williford, PharmD, BCCCP attended the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy from 2011 to 2015, where they earned their Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) with a focus on Pharmacy. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2011, they completed their Pre-Pharmacy Coursework at The University of Georgia.

In terms of additional certifications, Sarah obtained their Board Certified Critical Care Pharmacist (BCCCP) certification from the BPS - Board of Pharmacy Specialties in December 2019. Sarah also holds certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association, obtained in February 2022, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the same institution, obtained in July 2015.
