Duncan McLean has a strong background in the medical field, with extensive experience in critical care and anesthesiology. Duncan is currently serving as the Medical Director - Cardiovascular and Thoracic ICU at UNC Hospitals since March 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Critical Care Anesthesiologist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, starting from August 2019. Duncan also completed a Critical Care Fellowship at Duke University Health System from June 2018 to June 2019. Duncan began their medical career as an Anesthesiology Resident at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where they worked from June 2014 to June 2018. Before that, they served as a Research Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital from August 2013 to June 2014. Duncan's early experience includes roles as a Senior House Officer and Junior House Officer at NHS, where they worked from August 2011 to August 2013.
Duncan McLean completed their Bachelor's Degree in Biology, General from The University of Sheffield from 2004 to 2007. Duncan then went on to attend the University of Warwick from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained their MBChB degree in Medicine. In addition to their academic qualifications, Duncan also obtained certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support from the American College of Surgeons in February 2015, and in Advanced Cardiac Life Support from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association in June 2014.
