Venkat Prasad MD MBA MHA CPE FAAFP has had a diverse and extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Venkat Prasad has served as the Chief Medical Officer at Lee Physicians Group since 2017. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2015, they worked as the Senior Medical Director at UNC Physicians Network, where they oversaw all clinical functions and aligned strategic objectives with resources to advance a collaborative and integrated network. Venkat Prasad also held the role of Associate Medical Director QA during their time there. From 2009 to 2010, they served as a Physician and Medical Director at Rex Healthcare, providing supervisory services for urgent care centers and an occupational health unit. In addition, they have worked as the Chief Clinical Officer for Community Based Care at both Lee Physicians Group/Lee Health and Lee Health itself. Before that, they were a Family Physician and Medical Director at Tricounty CHC from 1998 to 2009.

Venkat Prasad MD MBA MHA CPE FAAFP holds a variety of educational qualifications. In 1977-1985, they completed the General Surgery Residency Program at the University of Mumbai, earning an MBBS and MS. Later, in 1995-1998, they attended Cornell University, where they received an ABFP in Family Medicine. Venkat Prasad then pursued an MBA/MHA in Business Administration and Health Administration at Pfeiffer University from 2005-2008. In 2015-2016, Venkat completed a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) program at the American Association of Physician Leadership. Venkat Prasad has also obtained additional certifications, including the 2017 Roger Schenke Leadership Award and the CPE from the American Association of Physician Leadership in 2016.
