Regina Asariotis

Regina Asariotis has over 30 years of work experience in the legal and academic fields. Regina began their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Oxford in 1990. Regina then worked as a Research Assistant and later as a Lecturer in Maritime Law at the University of Southampton from 1991 to 2001. During their time at Southampton, they also served as a Member of the Governing Board of the Institute of Maritime Law. In 2001, they joined UNCTAD as the First Legal Affairs Officer in the Legal Section. Regina later became the Chief of the Policy and Legislation Section. Their work at UNCTAD focused on policy and legislation related to international trade and development.

Regina Asariotis has a strong educational background in the field of law. Regina began their education at the University of Augsburg, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Law. Regina completed this program in 1989, having started in 1984. Following this, Regina Asariotis furthered their education by obtaining a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton. Regina completed this program in 1990. Later on, they pursued a more advanced degree, earning their Doctor of Jurisprudence (Ph.D) in Maritime Law from the University of Hamburg. Regina completed this program in 1999.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Regina Asariotis has also obtained several certifications in their field. In 1996, they became an Attorney at Law (Dikigoros) through the Athens Bar Association. In 2000, they became a Barrister in England and Wales through The Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn. Finally, in 2008, they became a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in the UK.
