Denise Kiona Henning

Denise Kiona Henning Ph.D. is an accomplished educator and leader in higher education with over 15 years of experience in various executive roles. Currently serving as the Director of the Community College Leadership Collaborative and a Professor of Practice at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington since March 2019, Denise also holds the position of CEO and Independent Consultant at Kiona - Oxendine & Associates, LLP. Denise has previously served as President and CEO at Medicine Hat College, NorthWest Community College, and University College of the North, along with roles as Vice President of Academics at First Nations University of Canada and Executive Director, International Student Success at the University of Regina. Denise's leadership philosophy emphasizes shared responsibility and collaborative approaches to enhance educational outcomes and organizational success.
