Luis Guillermo Pizaña

Luis Guillermo Pizaña has a diverse work experience in the fields of data science, NLP research, and social entrepreneurship.

From September 2021 to the present, they have been working as a Data Scientist at UnDosTres, where they lead the underwriting modeling efforts. Luis Guillermo'srole involves incorporating machine learning techniques into credit risk assessment for micro-loans and credit cards. Luis actively participates in developing and implementing supervised and unsupervised models, as well as utilizing NLP techniques. Under their leadership, the credit scoring efficiency has improved by 100%.

Starting in February 2023 and currently ongoing, Luis joined Elotl as an NLP Researcher. As part of this multidisciplinary virtual community, they focus on utilizing computational linguistics and NLP techniques to increase the digital availability of Mexico's original languages. Some of the ongoing projects they work on include automatic translators, online corpus consultation systems, corpus consultation APIs, and NLP tools.

Prior to that, from January 2019 to September 2021, Luis co-founded a social enterprise called XHINDO. In this role, they were responsible for strategic planning, objective determination, project planning, and overseeing product development and marketing campaigns.

With their extensive experience in data science, NLP research, and social entrepreneurship, Luis is well-equipped to contribute to various domains and projects.

Luis Guillermo Pizaña has a diverse education history. Luis Guillermo began their studies in 2015 at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), where they pursued a degree in Finance. Luis Guillermo completed this degree in 2019.

In 2017, Luis enrolled at the ITAM once again, this time focusing on Applied Mathematics. Luis Guillermo successfully graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics.

Expanding their knowledge in the field of Data Science, Luis pursued further education at MITx Courses, starting in 2021. Luis Guillermo is currently undertaking a program in Statistics and Data Science (General track) MicroMasters, with an expected completion in 2023.

To enhance their skill set, Luis also engaged in a short-term course at Coursera in 2022. Luis Guillermo completed the DeepLearning.AI TensorFlow Developer program, which provided him with a solid foundation in STEM-related subjects.
