Joel Almeida

Joel Almeida serves as the Gender and Youth Liaison Officer for Climate Action at UNDP since February 2024. Concurrently, Joel holds the position of Deputy Country Director at the African Union Students Platform and is actively engaged in supporting university students on the African Union Agenda 2063. Additional roles include MMI Ambassador for Social Media at Mary's Meals, Secretary of the Assembly for the National Federation of Academic Associations of the Universities of São Tomé and Príncipe, and Head of Marketing and Communications at MicroAitec. Joel also serves as an entrepreneurship teacher at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, and has experience as a Graphic Designer Consultant and Designer at Fundação Príncipe and Eugência Ei, respectively. Previous experience includes serving as the Coordinator for Youth Engagement at UNICEF and as Editor-in-chief of the Solta Tua Voz magazine. Joel Almeida holds a degree in Health Service Management from ISCS Victor Sá Machado and completed high school in Sciences and Technologies.
