Rana El-Houjeiri is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in gender equality and program management. Currently serving as MENA Regional Advisor and Country Representative at Malala Fund since September 2021, Rana previously held significant roles at UN Women from September 2011 to December 2020, including Regional Portfolio & Fund Manager overseeing 32 programs and grants across Arab States and Europe-Central Asia. Rana's expertise also includes leading the establishment of UN Women Lebanon Programme as Country Coordinator from April 2016 to March 2018. Additional experience with the United Nations includes a role in public sector modernization focusing on socio-economic development from September 2002 to August 2011, and contributing to research at MADMA Research Centre from March 1999 to December 2001. Educational credentials comprise a Master-level Postgraduate Diploma in Strategy and Innovation from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, as well as a Master of Arts in International Relations and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Lebanese American University.
