David Batista Paula

David Batista Paula is currently the Coordinator of Brazil's Sustainable Finance Taxonomy at the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), responsible for the development and implementation of Brazil’s Sustainable Taxonomy in alignment with national governance and the Ministry of Finance’s Action Plan. Previously, David served as a Capital Markets Analyst at CDP, where contributions included executing climate-focused projects for sustainable finance and organizing training for financial institutions in Latin America. Prior experience includes roles at knoell, Leisor, and Syngenta, focusing on regulatory affairs in crop protection, as well as earlier work in environmental engineering at COBRAPE. David holds an MBA in Agribusiness from USP/Esalq and bachelor's degrees in Environment and Urban Engineering and Science and Technology from Universidade Federal do ABC.
