Jessica Smith is a professional with extensive experience in sustainable finance and environmental initiatives. Currently serving as the head of the Nature programme at the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), Jessica also holds a temporary mandate to develop an academic engagement strategy aimed at bridging research and financial practice. In addition to roles at UNEP FI, Jessica is a Fellow at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and co-hosts the podcast "Executives in the Wild," which explores the connection between nature and leadership. Previous positions include Head of Secretariat at the Equator Principles Association, Managing Director at Peoplesized, and various roles within organizations such as the Cross Sector Biodiversity Initiative, UN Environment Programme, and IUCN. Jessica's educational background includes advanced degrees in Development Finance and International Affairs, with ongoing doctoral research at the University of Cape Town.
