Giacomo Ascenzi

Giacomo Ascenzi is an experienced professional currently serving as an Associate Programme Officer at UNEP-WCMC, leading initiatives on the Land Use Finance Impact Hub to help investors assess the environmental and social impacts of land use investments. Previously, Giacomo worked at Robeco as an Active Ownership Research Associate, where extensive sustainability research was conducted and policy documents on deforestation and biodiversity were prepared. Experience also includes a Business Analyst role at BIP, assisting in contract management and KPI calculations, as well as various positions during studies at Pomona College, including management roles in alumni engagement. Additionally, Giacomo participated in a Summer Diplomatic Academy hosted by the Washington International Diplomatic Academy and completed a research internship at IDeA Foundation Armenia, focusing on sustainability initiatives. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Sustainability and Energy Management from Università Bocconi, a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Economics from Pomona College, and an International Baccalaureate from UWC Dilijan.
