Michael Shamiyeh serves as the UNESCO Chair Holder at UNESCO since June 2020 and is an Advisory Board Member at voestalpine. Michael has been a Professor and Head at the Center for Future Design since May 2017 and is a Partner at the International Center for Corporate Governance at the University of St.Gallen, where involvement dates back to 2013. Prior to these roles, Michael Shamiyeh was a Visiting Professor at Stanford University from September 2017 to February 2020 and held the position of Professor and Head at the DOM Research Lab/University of Arts & Design until May 2017. Additionally, Michael Shamiyeh directed programs and taught as a Professor at LIMAK Austrian Business School from 2009 to 2012 and founded Shamiyeh Associates, serving as CEO from 2001 to 2012. Educational qualifications include a Post-Professional Master in Architecture (MARCH) from Harvard University, a PhD in Strategic Management from the University of St.Gallen, an MA in History and Critical Thinking from the Architectural Association, and a DIPL-ING in Architecture and Engineering from Technische Universität Wien.
