Tyler Ketron

Tyler Ketron has a diverse work experience ranging from software engineering to hydrogeology. Tyler is currently working as a Front End Software Engineer at Unfold since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Software Engineer at Birst from January 2019 to October 2021.

In 2018, Tyler Ketron was a Software Engineer Intern at Tunelark, where they built a classroom dashboard and assignments feature in a React and Ruby on Rails codebase. Tyler also modified the PostgreSQL database and Rails backend to allow users to sign up with a username in addition to an email, enabling easier access to the app. Tyler implemented a new feature allowing teachers to add students to their classroom and generate login credentials in a PDF format, saving time for teachers.

Before transitioning to software engineering, Tyler Ketron worked as a Hydrogeologist at Haley & Aldrich from June 2013 to June 2018. In this role, they constructed and interpreted groundwater flow and transport simulations for various projects. Tyler utilized spatial and analytical data to create conceptual models and visualizations for effective communication. Tyler also designed aquifer testing programs and provided recommendations for dewatering and remediation projects.

From July 2011 to June 2013, Tyler Ketron worked as a Scientific Programmer at the US EPA. Tyler developed a groundwater flow and transport model on a GIS platform, simplifying environmental impact estimations. Tyler coded modules for analytical solutions and formulated model objectives to ensure value for users.

Tyler Ketron started their career as a DEVELOP Program Research Assistant at NASA Ames Research Center from June 2010 to March 2011. Tyler performed multidisciplinary research on sediment dynamics in San Francisco Bay salt ponds and programmed scripts in MATLAB to streamline data processing.

During their time at Stanford University, Tyler Ketron served as a Teaching Assistant for the Fundamentals of Geographic Information Science course from September 2010 to December 2010. Tyler also held positions as Kitchen Manager and Office Assistant in different departments from 2007 to 2010.

In 2009, Tyler Ketron worked as a Research Assistant at TERRA Resource Development International, conducting a water quality study in the Bolivian Altiplano. Tyler administered questionnaires, collected water samples, and examined data to test for heavy metal contamination.

Tyler Ketron completed their education in a chronological order. From the year 2006 to 2010, they attended Stanford University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Systems. Following this, from 2010 to 2011, they furthered their education at Stanford University and earned a Master of Science degree in the same field, Earth Systems. Additionally, Tyler obtained two certifications: AutoCAD 2012 Certified Professional in June 2012 and Engineer-In-Training, CA in December 2011. Furthermore, Tyler also attended Rithm School, where they completed a 17-week intensive web-development program.
