Carlotta Sami

Carlotta Sami serves as the Chief of the Multimedia Content Section and Senior Regional Communications Officer at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, since January 2014, where responsibilities include maintaining media relations and public engagement surrounding refugee issues, particularly in Italy. Prior to this, Carlotta led Amnesty International in Italy as Executive Director from January 2012 to December 2013. Experience also includes roles at Save the Children, where Carlotta was Head of Advocacy and contributed to various international initiatives focused on child rights, especially concerning migrant and trafficked children. Additional professional background encompasses board membership at CONCORD, representation for Terre des hommes in Palestine, and teaching positions across academic institutions in Italy and France. Carlotta holds two PhDs—one in Law and another in International Law and Legal Studies—from the Università degli Studi di Milano, in addition to a Bachelor in Law from the Università degli Studi di Genova.
