Fernando Flores

Fernando Flores has extensive experience in humanitarian and international relations roles, predominantly with the UNHCR since April 2014, where key positions have included First Vice Chair of the Global Staff Council and Head of the Lago Agrio Field Office in Ecuador. Flores has effectively managed emergency response operations related to various refugee crises in Colombia, Mexico, and Angola, demonstrating strong leadership and program implementation skills. Prior experience includes research and consultancy roles at ECLAC, where contributions supported economic policy development and international trade negotiations. A foundation in administrative and operational support was established through various roles within the United Nations and associated organizations, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from George Mason University and a Certificate in Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University.
