Joel Andersson

Joel Andersson has extensive experience in humanitarian and refugee response, currently serving as a Senior Emergency Coordinator at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, since June 2020. Previous roles at UNHCR from February 2006 to February 2020 include positions such as Snr Protection Cluster Coordinator and Chief of Mission for the Caribbean. Joel's early career includes significant contributions as a Humanitarian Affairs Officer with United Nations OCHA and Médecins Sans Frontières, along with a series of operational and programmatic roles within UNHCR. Joel holds an M.A. in Sociology and East Asian Studies from Lund University, completed in 1999.
