Michele Simone

Michele Simone has extensive experience in protection and human rights within the United Nations system, currently serving as a Senior Protection Cluster Adviser at UNHCR since October 2004. Throughout a dynamic career at UNHCR, Michele held several significant roles, including Senior Liaison Officer for Internal Displacement, Senior External Relations Officer, and Head of the Human Rights Liaison Unit. Prior experience includes serving as a Local Community Officer/Minority Affairs Officer with UNMIK from November 2002 to October 2004 and as an Associate Protection Officer at UNHCR from September 2000 to October 2002. Michele's academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Politico Administrative Studies/EU Community Law and Institutions from the College of Europe, a Master's degree in European Studies from Università degli Studi di Firenze, a Diploma in International Relations/Diplomacy from the International Studies Foundation, and a University degree in International Law from Università degli Studi di Firenze.
