Alvara Gjylapi has an extensive work history that spans over many years. They began their career as an intern at Merrill Lynch in 2003. They then worked at Sovereign Bank as a Senior Personal Banking Representative before joining Avidia Bank, where they held various roles including Assistant Branch Manager, Branch Manager/Officer, and Junior Credit Analyst. In 2011, Alvara moved on to Clinton Savings Bank as a Commercial Credit Analyst. They later joined UniBank for Savings as an AVP, Credit and Loan Review Officer. Alvara then transitioned to Santander Bank, N.A. as the SVP, Director of Credit Practices before returning to UniBank for Savings as the SVP, Senior Credit Officer and eventually being promoted to SVP, Chief Credit Officer in 2021.

Alvara Gjylapi, CRC, holds a Wharton Leadership Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania, which was obtained from the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking in 2017. In 2009, Gjylapi completed an MBA in Finance & Accounting at Assumption University. Prior to that, in 2004, Gjylapi earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Worcester State University. Additionally, Gjylapi obtained the RMA-CRC (Credit Risk Certified) certification from The Risk Management Association in November 2014.
