Rebecca Barker-Riding's work experience began in 2012 as an Assistant Manager at Fresh Food Canteen, where they worked until August 2013. In 2013, they also worked as a Fundraising Research and Sponsored Event Volunteer at the University of Kent, and as a Deputy Research & Outreach Officer at Diversity House from June to October. Rebecca then joined UNICEF UK in October 2013 as a Philanthropy Partnerships Assistant, and later held roles as an Executive in Partnerships & Philanthropy and a Senior Proposal Writer. Rebecca'slatest role at UNICEF UK as a Senior Proposal Writer began in January 2017 and continues to the present.

Rebecca Barker-Riding completed their education in Child Development, Law, and International Baccalaureate. In 2016-2017, they attended Birkbeck, University of London, where they earned a Certificate in Childhood Development with a Psychological Perspective. From 2008 to 2012, they studied at the University of Kent and obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in European Legal Studies. Rebecca also spent the academic year of 2010-2011 at the University of Amsterdam as part of their Erasmus Year Abroad Programme for their LLB degree. Prior to their university education, Rebecca attended the Bavarian International School from 2000 to 2008, where they completed their International Baccalaureate.
