Erinna Dia

Associate Director, Early Childhood Development at UNICEF

Erinna C. Dia has extensive experience in education and early childhood development, currently serving as Associate Director for Early Childhood Development at UNICEF since October 2009, where leadership involves providing strategic vision and guidance for children's rights and development. Previously, Erinna held multiple significant roles at UNICEF, including Chief of Education, overseeing large education programs in Afghanistan and other regions, and managing teams and substantial budgets to enhance educational opportunities for vulnerable children. Prior experience includes roles at the African Development Bank as an Education Analyst, focusing on education and poverty reduction projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, and as a Consultant with the World Bank, contributing to various educational initiatives across multiple African countries. Erinna holds a Ph.D. in International Education and another in Economics from New York University, along with an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Lehigh University and a Bachelor’s degree in Development Economics from the University of Buckingham.
