Jacob Van Der Blij

Jacob van der Blij is currently serving as the Chief Risk Officer at UNICEF since December 2022, overseeing risk management across operations in 190 countries. Prior to this role, Jacob was the Head of Risk at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance from June 2015 to December 2022, where responsibilities included implementing risk management practices and facilitating communication with senior leadership. Jacob has also contributed as a Board member of the Swiss Chapter of ISACA and as an Independent Risk Consultant at VAN DER BLIJ Risk Consulting. Jacob’s career began at Deloitte, progressing from Senior Consultant to Manager in Enterprise Risk Services. Educational qualifications include an M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Groningen and an Executive Master in IT-Auditing from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, among other academic achievements.
