Thando Hlongwane is a seasoned entrepreneur and technology advocate with extensive experience in the financial and educational sectors. As Co-Founder and Director of Nisa Finance since April 2016, Thando has helped streamline loan processes for small businesses through automated solutions. In addition, Thando serves as a Steering Committee Member for the Youth Digital Agency Platform at UNICEF, fostering youth engagement on social challenges in Africa. As Co-Founder and Director of Lipa Payments, Thando has innovated payment solutions for small businesses, allowing them to accept digital payments effortlessly. Previously, Thando co-founded Zaio, an online IT school that prepares students for successful careers in tech by incorporating gamified learning experiences. Thando’s commitment to technological advancement is further evidenced by participation in the STI Foresight Initiative committee as part of the National Advisory Council on Innovation in South Africa. Thando holds a BSC Honours in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town and a National Senior Certificate from Durban High School.
