Vahid Hedayati

Vahid Hedayati is an accomplished Social Policy Officer at UNICEF since September 2021, focusing on social policy, social protection, and child rights mainstreaming. Key achievements include supporting the development of national policies for children in street situations and facilitating humanitarian responses for earthquake-affected families in West Azerbaijan Province. Hedayati previously held positions at UNICEF as a Social Policy Specialist a.i. and Child Protection Officer, contributing significantly to the development of national guidelines for children in conflict with the law and training over 1500 stakeholders in child-friendly justice principles. With experience as a Legal Advisor and Researcher for the Iran Judiciary from July 2015 to June 2021, Hedayati was involved in drafting crucial legislation for child protection. Education includes a PhD candidate in Public International Law from the University of Tehran, an Erasmus+ exchange program at the Università di Bologna, and advanced degrees in international law and English literature from Shahid Beheshti University.
