Sara Kenkare-Mitra

Sara Kenkare-Mitra is the President and Head of R&D at Alector since December 2021. Prior to this role, extensive experience was gained at Genentech over 23 years, culminating in the position of Senior Vice President of Development Sciences. Contributions also include serving as an Adjunct Full Professor at the University of California, San Francisco until November 2021 and participating as faculty for the Pharmacokinetics for Pharmaceutical Scientists Course from December 1991 to January 2021. Sara's board memberships include the Association for Women in Science, Genentech Foundation, and EPPIC GLOBAL NETWORK. Academic accomplishments feature a PhD in Biopharmaceutical Sciences from the University of California, San Francisco, and a Pharmaceutics Graduate Student tenure at The University of Texas at Austin, supplemented by postdoctoral fellowship experience in Clinical Pharmacology at the University of California, San Francisco - School of Medicine.
