Richard Sanders has worked in a variety of roles since 1988. Richard began their career in the US Navy as an Aviation Electronic Technician, where they gained experience in calibration, troubleshooting and repairing precision electronic and physical/dimensional devices. In 2005, they became a Team Captain at Feeding America, where they provided indoctrination and training to 200 volunteers weekly and managed warehouse operations. From 2007 to 2009, they were an Event Coordinator at CRSD, where they volunteered over 40 hours a month in planning, scheduling and coordinating all fundraising events. From 2017 to 2019, they worked at Avalon Test Equipment as a Metrologist, where they repaired and calibrated precision test equipment. Richard also obtained certifications from Anritsu and JMA. In 2017, they began working at Anritsu, where they obtained certifications in Fiber, OTDR and CPRI. From 2009 to 2017, they were a Test Measure Diagnostic Equipment Manager at Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc., where they were a subject matter expert and trainer for military technicians and supervisors in Metrology and Quality Assurance. Since 2020, they have been a Laboratory Manager and Technical Manager at Unified Industries Incorporated, where they are responsible for the integrity, effectiveness and efficiency of lab products and services. Richard is also responsible for a $250k calibration budget and $2 million in test equipment.

Richard Sanders obtained an Associate's degree in Aeronautics/Aviation/Aerospace Science and Technology, General from Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in 1987. In 1985, they obtained an Aviation Maintenance Technician certification from Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology. In 1990 and 1991, they attended US Navy Calibration School and US Navy Advanced School of Metrology, respectively, and obtained Metrology certifications from both. In 1989, they attended Air Technical Training Center, Millington TN and obtained Advanced First Term Avionics, Class A1 and Avionics Technician, Class A1 certifications. Richard also attended Air Maintenance Group Detachment, North Island - San Dieigo and obtained Intermediate level Calibration of Physical/Dimensional Test and Measuring Systems Phase B/D and Intermediate Level Test Equiptment Calibration certifications. In 1996, they attended Fleet Training Center - San Diego and obtained an Instructor certification. In 2000, they attended Technical Training Unit - Keesler AFB and obtained an Advanced Calibration Technician certification. In 2017, they obtained an Anritsu Line Sweep certification from Anritsu. In 2006, they obtained a LEAN Facilitator Training at SWRMC Lean Enterprise certification from US Navy. In 1997, they obtained a Total Quality Leadership Fundamentals certification from US Navy. Richard also holds a Connector Training Certifier certification from JMA Wireless.
