Ron Thornton

Ron Thornton has worked in the technology industry for over 40 years. Their most recent role is as a Principal Software Engineer at Unified Office, Inc. since 2021. Prior to this, they were a Storage Development Sr. Engineer at Dell / EqualLogic from 2011 to 2021. From 2004 to 2011, they held the role of HAM at the Boston Athletic Association. From 2001 to 2004, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Alcatel-Lucent (formerly Telica) where they developed a multithread and distributed Billing and Traffic Statistics (BTS) system. Ron was also a Senior Software Engineer at Telica (which became Lucent, then Alcatel-Lucent) from 2001 to 2004. From 1996 to 2001, they were a Principal Engineer at PictureTel where they designed and developed video and audio conferencing sub-systems. From 1991 to 1996, they were a Member of Technical Staff at Titan Corporation (Client Server Technologies) where they managed technical direction on major projects with GTE and other telecommunications companies. Finally, from 1978 to 1991, they were a Senior Development Engineer at GenRad, where they were responsible for technical investigation, performance analysis, product definition, development, support, and documentation of GenRad's Hosts/servers, Tester Computer Groups, Peripherals, Operating Systems, Networking Products, and CPU Subsystem Diagnostics.

Ron Thornton attended De Anza College, where they obtained an Associates degree in Data Processing.
