Jocelyn Manuel has over 20 years of experience in operations, people operations, program management, budgeting, financial management, contracting, fundraising, and change management. In 2019, they served as Director of Operations and Head of Real Estate at Uniform Teeth, where they developed and implemented pandemic furlough and layoff programs, managed the shut down and re-opening of clinics, and created compliant company onboarding and offboarding processes. From 2017 to 2019, Manuel worked as a Startup Business Operations Consultant, providing coaching and advice to startups and small businesses on business plans, growth strategies, operational set up, people operations, and marketing. From 2014 to 2017, they were Chief of Staff and Director of Operations at Townsquared, where they created inclusive recruiting processes, implemented immersive orientations, and implemented Lattice for performance management. From 2008 to 2014, Manuel was Senior Project Manager at WestEd, where they established budget and program reporting processes. From 2005 to 2008, they were Associate Director at Friends of Peralta Hacienda Historical Park, where they managed budget development, led program management, managed multi-million dollar government capital contracts, and increased member contributions by 50%. From 1999 to 2005, Manuel was Senior Project Manager at Charles Schwab, where they led programs that increased retention, improved HR operations, and enhanced communication between management, project partners, and external vendors, as well as orchestrated the relocation of 400+ San Francisco-based employees to a new campus.
Jocelyn Manuel received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. Prior to this, they obtained a B.A. in Economics from Reed College.
