Suren Subramanien

Suren Subramanien is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in procurement and supply chain management. Currently serving as Head of Procurement for Unilever Africa since September 2021, Suren leads initiatives focused on localization, sustainability, and performance improvement across African markets. Prior roles at Unilever include Procurement Director for East Africa and Global Supply Chain Director for Homecare, where Suren drove strategic improvements and established procurement functions in emerging markets. Previous experience includes a supply chain executive role at Clicks Retailers, overseeing comprehensive supply chain teams and transformation strategies, as well as a manufacturing leadership position at Akulu Marchon. Suren holds an MBA from the University of South Africa and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
