Gayan Ranaweera

Gayan Ranaweera currently serves as Chief Credit Officer and Chief Risk Officer at Union Bank of Colombo since January 2024. Prior to this role, Gayan held multiple senior positions at Nations Trust Bank PLC, including Chief Internal Auditor and Chief Credit Officer, from January 2016 to January 2024. Gayan's extensive experience in credit risk management also includes roles such as Senior Manager of Credit Risk at Sampath Bank from April 2010 to December 2015 and various positions at Hatton National Bank PLC, starting as a Junior Executive in 1999. Gayan's educational qualifications include a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka, an MBA in Finance from the University of Colombo, and a B Sc. from The Open University of Sri Lanka.
