Michael Shumate is a seasoned pastor with over 30 years of experience at Union Baptist Church, where Michael has served since October 1993. In addition to pastoral duties, Michael has been an Associate Chaplain at Cleveland Regional Medical Center since 1993. Prior to these roles, Michael served at Cedar Fork Baptist Church in Durham, NC, from January 1987 to September 1993. Michael holds a Master of Divinity in New Testament and Missions from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (1984-1987) and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion/Religious Studies from Samford University (1981-1983). Michael also earned an Associate of Arts in Business Management from Southern Union State Community College (1979-1981).
