Jennifer Gilbert

Jennifer Gilbert is currently an advisor at Union Capital Boston. Jennifer has over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, with a focus on real estate development transactions, strategic and business planning, strategic restructuring, and financing/fundraising.

Jennifer has served as the executive director of the Kuehn Charitable Foundation since 2015, where they have led strategy-setting and implementation of grantmaking in affordable housing, historic preservation and open space. Jennifer also directed recruitment and programming for the Kuehn Fellowship, a two-year practice based fellowship in affordable housing.

Prior to their work at the Kuehn Charitable Foundation, Jennifer was an independent consultant and principal at VIVA Consulting, a firm they founded in 2001. At VIVA Consulting, Jennifer provided consulting services to a range of nonprofit organizations on real estate development and finance. Jennifer also created and delivered multiple engaging, customized courses on real estate development and finance ranging from single-session to semester-long.

Jennifer has a deep commitment to social justice and to supporting organizations that are working to create positive change in the world. Jennifer is an expert in their field and has a proven track record of success in overseeing complex real estate development projects and helping organizations to achieve their goals.

Jennifer Gilbert began their educational career by obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Theirtory from the University of Pennsylvania. Jennifer then pursued a Master's in City Planning with a focus in Real Estate and Nonprofit Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Finally, Jennifer Gilbert obtained their Doctor of Law - JD from Northeastern University School of Law.
