Sheena Collier

Board Member at Union Capital Boston

Sheena Collier is currently a Board Member at Union Capital Boston. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Economic Opportunity at the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce from December 2016 to January 2020. In that role, they focused on strategic initiatives on racial diversity in the private sector, the role of the business community around economic mobility and building the brand of the region to attract new businesses and investments.

Before their work at the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, Sheena was the Senior Associate at Collaborative Communications Group from October 2011 to September 2013. In that role, they managed six foundation and nonprofit accounts with a budget totaling $1.3 million. Sheena also coordinated a 50-state outreach initiative for the C.S. Mott Foundation, disseminating best practices to inform K-12 educators and policymakers’ afterschool and summer learning funding decisions. Additionally, they provided technical assistance to 41 statewide afterschool networks focused on advocating state policy and managed the production and promotion of project website and book, Expanding Minds and Opportunities: Leveraging the Power of Afterschool and Summer Learning for Student Success, winner of a silver award of distinction from the Communicator Awards.

Sheena Collier has a Master of Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education in Childhood Risk & Prevention, and they are also a graduate of the Education Policy Fellowship Program at the Institute for Educational Leadership. Sheena also has a Bachelor of Arts from Spelman College in Psychology/Child Development, and they are also a graduate of the Babson WIN Lab Women-Owned Business Accelerator at Babson College.
