Huong (Alicia) Dang is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Union College since September 2020. Prior experience includes roles such as Researcher at NORC at the University of Chicago, where research focused on Vietnam’s economic growth priorities for USAID, and an ST Consultant at The World Bank, engaging in urban poverty analyses and spatial representations. Huong also served as an Economic Consultant for the United Nations Population Fund, contributing to assessments in Vietnam, and held positions with the International Labour Organization and The Asia Foundation, managing projects and conducting research. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Economics from The George Washington University, an M.Phil. in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Economics from Brown University.
