Bill Merkl

Bill Merkl currently serves as the Laboratory Manager at Stonehouse Process Safety, Inc., a position held since September 2018, overseeing safety, flammability, and explosion testing for powders and liquids, along with the setup, calibration of equipment, and the writing of operating procedures. Bill also teaches Biology and Human Body Design at Union County Vocational-Technical Schools since September 2011, following a maternity-leave replacement role. Additionally, Bill has extensive experience as a substitute teacher across multiple districts, managing classrooms in various subjects. Previously, Bill worked as a Research Scientist at Bristol-Myers Squibb from 1988 to 2008, focusing on Process Safety and materials characterization, and began a career in research at Engelhard Corporation where participation in the development of a new paper coating product took place. Bill holds a B.S. in Biology from Rutgers University and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching at New Jersey City University.
