Steven Wicklund

Steven Wicklund is a Principal Engineer and Enterprise Architect at Union Pacific Railroad, with a career spanning over two decades since 2001. Wicklund has led various initiatives, including the architecture of Positive Train Control Energy Management Systems and the management of a repository for Service/Event APIs utilizing advanced technologies such as AngularJS and Spring Boot. A strong advocate for DevOps practices, Wicklund has implemented solutions that significantly reduce operational time and improve software development efficiency. Previous roles include architecting the NetControl system, where Wicklund contributed to a $200M legacy system replacement, and serving as an adjunct professor in Discrete Mathematics at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Wicklund holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from DePaul University and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Computer Information Science from Bethany College.
