Mihaela Apetri has a diverse work experience in the field of drug product development and biophysics. Mihaela is currently working at uniQure as an Associate Director of Drug Product Development, where they have been responsible for leading and managing the development of drug products. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Scientist at uniQure and as a Scientist in Formulation Development.
Before joining uniQure, Mihaela worked at Crossbeta Biosciences B.V. as a Senior Scientist and Scientist.
Mihaela'sexperience also includes a position as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Leiden University, where they conducted research in the field of biophysics. Mihaela also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Yale University School of Medicine, where they investigated the phosphorylation events of the epidermal growth factor receptor and studied the effects of an EGFR inhibitor on cell cultures.
Mihaela completed their PhD at Case Western Reserve University, where their research focused on the aggregation mechanism of alpha-synuclein protein associated with Parkinson's disease and the interaction between alpha-synuclein and tau proteins in neurodegenerative disorders. Mihaela'sexpertise includes various techniques in protein expression, purification, and characterization.
Mihaela Apetri received their Ph.D. in Biophysics/Protein Chemistry from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, USA from 2000 to 2006. Prior to that, they obtained an M.S. in Physical Chemistry from Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, between 1992 and 1998.
