Adam Nogiec has a diverse background in the energy industry, with a strong focus on fuel cell technology. Adam has held various roles throughout their career, starting with an internship at Siemens Transportation Systems in 2002. From there, they worked as a Co-Op at Robert Bosch Corporation in the Gasoline Systems division.
In 2005, Nogiec joined Hamilton Sundstrand as a Systems Engineer, where they supported controls development for the Airbus A380 airliner and performed system level and safety hazard analysis for the International Space Station.
In 2007, they transitioned to UTC Power as a Systems Engineer, responsible for defining functional requirements and performing verification and validation testing for stationary and transportation fuel cells.
Nogiec then joined ClearEdge Power in 2009 as a Project Developer and Applications Engineer. In this role, they performed technical and economic analyses, developed conceptual designs, and provided technical support for fuel cell combined heat and power installations. Adam also took on the responsibility of commissioning and operating an international fleet of 400kW systems and handled the measurement and verification process required for state funding agencies.
In 2014, Nogiec moved to Proton OnSite as a Senior Applications Engineer, where they provided technical sales support and developed proposals for hydrogen plant tenders.
From 2014 to 2016, they worked at Doosan Fuel Cell America, Inc. as a Site Integration Manager, overseeing turn-key construction management for fuel cell combined heat and power installations. Adam also managed the commissioning process and monitored site performance using measurement and verification techniques.
Currently, Nogiec is the Vice President of Engineering at Unison Energy, a position they have held since 2016.
Adam Nogiec has a long and diverse education history. Adam began their academic journey at the University of Connecticut in 1999, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering. During their undergraduate studies, they also pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in German Studies, showcasing their multidisciplinary interests. Adam successfully completed both degrees in 2004.
Determined to further their knowledge and skills in Mechanical Engineering, Adam went on to earn a Master of Science (MS) degree in the same field from the University of Connecticut. This educational milestone was achieved between the years 2005 and 2008.
Recognizing the importance of continuing education and staying up-to-date with industry advancements, Adam later pursued a Graduate Certificate in Engineering with a specialization in Power Engineering from the University of Connecticut. This program, completed in 2020, demonstrates their commitment to acquiring specialized knowledge in their field.
Alongside their formal education, Adam obtained various certifications to enhance their professional standing. In 2011, they became a Certified Building Commissioning Professional through the Association of Energy Engineers. A year later, in 2012, Adam earned the designation of Certified Energy Manager (CEM), further solidifying their expertise in energy management.
