Andreas Athanasoulias

Andreas Athanasoulias began their work experience in 2010 as an Information Security Consultant at SYNTAX IT Group. During this time, they led IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance projects, as well as Ethical Hacking services. Andreas also worked as a pre-sales consultant for various security products and services. In 2012, they joined SYNTAX Diamond Information Systems LLC in the same role, where they continued to lead projects and provide pre-sales consultancy. In 2014, they joined Unisystems as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and later became the Information Security Consultant and Information Security Services Team Leader. In these roles, they developed internal information security programs, implemented ISO 27001 aligned ISMS, and managed a team of consultants and engineers. Andreas also supported commercial business units across all project phases. Additionally, Athanasoulias worked as the Business Unit Manager of the IT Security Risk & Compliance division at SYNTAX IT Group, where they were responsible for composing business plans and developing software and GRC services portfolios.

Andreas Athanasoulias completed their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Telecommunications at Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon from 2003 to 2009. In 2009-2010, they pursued a Master's Degree in Information Security at Royal Holloway, University of London. Later, from 2017 to 2018, they attended Alba Graduate Business School and completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General.

In terms of certifications, Andreas obtained various qualifications. Andreas became a Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE) from ISACA in August 2020 and a Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) from (ISC)² in February 2020. Andreas also earned the Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect certification from Splunk in June 2019, and the SABSA Chartered Security Architect – Foundation Certificate (SCF) from The SABSA Institute in September 2018.

Furthermore, Andreas attained the Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) certification from (ISC)² in July 2017, and the Certified Information Privacy Professional/ Europe - GDPR (CIPP/E) certification from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in July 2017. Additionally, Andreas received certifications such as the Splunk Certified Architect 6.3 from Splunk in January 2017 and the PRINCE2 Foundation from AXELOS Global Best Practice in December 2016.

In the years prior, Andreas earned the Splunk Certified Power User 6.3 certification in March 2016 from Splunk and the Certified ISO 22301:2012 Lead Implementor certification from PECB in December 2015. Andreas also obtained the Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge from the Cloud Security Alliance in January 2015 and the Certified ISO 27001:2013 Lead Auditor certification from IRCA in June 2014.

Furthermore, Andreas attained certifications such as the Certified Sales Professional 2013 from Citrix in June 2014, the Sales Expert in PGP Command Line from Symantec in December 2013, and the Authorised Consultant in Data Loss Prevention from Symantec in October 2013. Andreas also became a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA in August 2013.

Additionally, Andreas earned certifications in dance, including the Latin Associate Dance Teacher certification from the International Dance Teachers Association Limited in March 2013. Andreas also obtained technical certifications, such as the Technical Specialist in Control Compliance Suite and Technical Specialist in Data Loss Prevention, both from Symantec in October 2012. Moreover, Andreas became a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in July 2012.
