Michal Rachtan has a diverse work experience in the technology field. Michal is currently the Founder & CTO at Unit8 SA since December 2017. Prior to that, they worked at Palantir Technologies as a Tech Lead from October 2015 to November 2017, where they were responsible for building analytical infrastructure and software for leading organizations in various industries globally. Michal also worked at Swisscom, a Swiss telecom operator, where they held the positions of Senior Data Scientist from May 2013 to September 2015, and Data Scientist from August 2011 to May 2013. At Swisscom, Michal played a key role in building the company's first Big Data team and contributed to the development of a in-house big data cluster for processing large-scale workloads.
Michal Rachtan holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from AGH University of Krakow. Michal also earned a degree in Machine Learning (MLSS Sydney 2015) from the University of Sydney. In addition to their formal education, Michal has obtained certifications in Data Analysis and Statistical Inference from Coursera in November 2014, Statistical Machine Learning from KU Leuven in 2014, Data Science Essentials (DS-200) from Cloudera in July 2013, and CCDH Cloudera Certified Developer for Apache Hadoop from Cloudera in July 2012.
